This team carries out research in order to better understand the changing nature of demand for livestock products in the developing world in terms of quality, safety and convenience, and thus identify appropriate market institutions that will allow smallholders to access markets for livestock inputs and outputs that meet consumer needs.
Focus is on the changing nature of demand for livestock products in major urban markets of developing countries. We pay particular attention to the changes in demand for product uniformity, convenience, quality, safety and the prices that consumers are willing to pay for.
